In a recent article published by the Physiotherapy Theory and Practice Journal of Physical Therapy, the Department of Physical Therapy was ranked 18th in the world and 3rd in the U.S. for PT-centric papers published in index journals. The department also ranked 5th among the top 20 most productive and impactful universities for citations per paper.
The results are published in the journal’s recent article, Mapping the Field of Physical Therapy and Identification of the Leading Active Producers. A Bibliometric Analysis of the Period 2000-2018, where the objectives were to describe the thematic structure and evolution of the field of physical therapy, identify the main research producers, and compare their research output and citation impact (Carballo-Costa et al.).
