Sharon Dunn, P.T., Ph.D., OCS, president of the American Physical Therapy Association and associate professor in the DPT program and chair of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at LSU Health New Orleans, delivered the Barbara C. White Lecture at the DPT graduation banquet on May 3. The Department of Physical Therapy established the Barbara C. White Lecturer Award in 1973. The award was designed to acknowledge the contributions Ms. White made to the educational program in physical therapy at the University of Florida. Each year, the awardee is selected by the physical therapy faculty and is invited to speak at the graduation banquet.
This year we welcomed Dr. Dunn to the Swamp where she delivered an inspirational message to our graduating students. Although she may have “cast a voodoo spell” on the stadium, we were honored to have Dr. Dunn share her passion for physical therapy… and do the Gator chomp!
