Mitchell Presents Keynote Lecture at 2017 Annual Meeting of the American Spinal Injury Association

Gordon S. Mitchell, PhD provided the keynote lecture for the 2017 Annual Meeting of the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) recently held in Albuquerque, New Mexico April 27 -29.  Supported by the National Neurotrauma Society, the talk was entitled, “Can We Harness Spinal Plasticity Triggered by Intermittent Hypoxia To Improve Breathing and Walking After SCI?” In addition, Dr. Mitchell moderated a round table discussion entitled, “Bench to Bedside and Back: Roadblocks to Meaningful Trials and Driving Research.” The ASIA consists of a diverse, multidisciplinary membership, including physical and occupational therapists, physicians, psychologists, nurses, basic scientists and clinical researchers, as well as students, residents, and fellows.
