The mission of the Brooks-UF PHHP Research Collaboration is to be a recognized leader in advancing rehabilitation science, education, and practice through patient-centered research, striving for an immediate impact on the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.


Core Tenets

  • The Brooks-UF PHHP Research Collaboration is a contemporary, interdisciplinary, academic-clinical partnership focused on enhancing the missions of UF PHHP and Brooks through high quality rehabilitation research that advances clinical care and outcomes.
  • The Collaboration provides structure and resources to foster advancement and productivity of UF and Brooks investigators, clinicians, and trainees.
  • External research funding will be aggressively sought to support high quality, interdisciplinary research that promotes scientific advancements and improvements in quality of life for those receiving rehabilitation services.
  • Collaboration activities will support an environment that encourages inquiry as well as integration of research, education, and clinical care.

About Brooks Clinical Integration and Research

Brooks Clinical Integration and Research is committed to advancing rehabilitation science, technology and care through clinical and data-driven research and developing the most effective therapies for patients. Brooks’ clinical research programs are focused on patient populations who have experienced neurological injuries such as stroke, brain injury, or spinal cord injury and individuals who are battling musculoskeletal pain and other disabling conditions. Brooks Clinical Integration and Research partners with leading experts in academia, clinical care and the industry to offer individuals the opportunity to participate in innovative research studies that focus on solving real-world problems that patients and healthcare professionals experience in rehabilitation.
