Target Audience: Clinical Instructors that want to enhance their clinical teaching skills.
Objectives:
• Review performance expectations for each clinical experience for UF DPT students.
• Provide key elements of the 1-minute CI teaching method.
• Discuss suggested student “downtime activities” to enhance professional development and proper time management.
• Review the importance of the weekly student “check-in” meeting.
• Provide an overview of student reflection as a learning tool.
• Discuss how to ask the “right” clinical questions based on Bloom’s taxonomy for learning, teaching, and assessment.
• Review the learning vector model of clinical instruction and student professional development.
• Discuss strategies for providing meaningful student feedback.
