A rectangular landscape picture of 4 DPT students and two other attendees of the Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy Annual Conference. Everyone is wearinga red cowboy hat, and three of the DPT students are wearing large oversized sunglasses. Four of the poeple are wearing bandanas around their necks that say "Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy" and "JOIN THE FIGHT. END DUCHENNE." One of the students is holding a sign that says "HOWDY Y'ALL" and one of the attendees is holding a sign that says "WANTED". The entire group is posed in front of a black and white background that includes a butte and the facade of a western town.

This Summer, Dr. Claudia Senesac and Doctor of Physical Therapy Class of 2025 Students Jaden Anderson, Briana Dentry, Tara Kochey, and Melyn Jessell attended the Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy Annual Conference (PPMD) in Dallas, Texas, June 29-July 1,2023.

This was a great opportunity for DPT Students from our Pediatrics in Physical Therapy course (PHT 6322) to learn about the latest research into Becker Muscular Dystrophy and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy from researchers and health care practitioners, and to gain hands on experience working and having fun with real patients and their families.

We feel very fortunate to be able to give our students this kind of experience and can’t wait to see the contributions they make in the world after they graduate!
