Justus Norman receives Alumni and Friends Scholarship Award

The Department of Physical Therapy is proud to congratulate Justus Norman for receiving the Alumni and Friends Scholarship Award!

The UF Physical Therapy Department collects funds to support the Alumni and Friends scholarship. Established in 2021, the scholarship expands inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility initiatives within the Doctor of Physical Therapy program and supports the mission of the department’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) Committee. This scholarship supports physical therapy students who are first-generation college students, are committed to advancing diversity and inclusion, have overcome educational, social, or family disadvantages, or have demonstrated academic leadership.

What does winning this scholarship mean to you?

To me, winning this scholarship means that we as a program have begun to recognize the importance of social justice efforts in a way that we haven’t done before.

What do you look forward to most in your career as a Doctor of Physical Therapy?

As of now, I look forward to the versatility of this profession. I enjoy treating a wide variety of patients, from high-level athletes to very acute patients, such as those in the ICU.

What would you like to say to the donors of this scholarship?
