Summers receives the Barbara and Michael Connolly Scholarship

The UF Department of Physical Therapy would like to congratulate Clyde Summers on being awarded the Barbara and Michael Connolly Scholarship. The Barbara and Michael Connolly Scholarship is awarded to a matriculate who demonstrates a high potential to contribute to the profession, leadership skills, a 3.5 undergraduate GPA, and financial need.

What does being chosen for this award mean to you?

I am thankful to have received the Barbara and Michael Connolly Scholarship. Being chosen for this award highlights my achievements in and out of the classroom. I intend to be an exceptional role model for future recipients of this award. 

What do you look forward to most in your career as a PT?

As a future PT, I look forward to assisting with health promotion and wellness for individuals in lower socioeconomic areas, working with veteran service members, and specializing in sports physical therapy. Additionally, I am enthusiastic about becoming an advocate for minorities in healthcare.

What would you like to say to the donors of this award?

I would like to say thank you to the donors of this award. It is an absolute honor to be the recipient of this prestigious award.
