A Season for Gratitude: Matt Walser

This holiday season, UF at Work recognized faculty and staff who have gone above and beyond to ensure the success of our departments, colleges and the university. Matt Walser was among those featured who have truly made a difference this year. Below are testimonials from PT faculty who have worked alongside Matt.

Physician Assistant and Affiliate Faculty, Physical Therapy, College of Public Health and Health Professions

From Dr. Mark Bishop, Associate Professor and Director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program:

While Matt Walser may not be full-time UF DPT faculty, he is an important part of our education team. Matt has been a long-time instructor of Radiology coursework in the UF DPT program. This year for many of us, including Matt, was very different. COVID-19 related schedule changes meant that he had to shift and reorganize his course material to begin earlier in the curriculum than usual. This was at the SAME TIME as starting up and delivering the UF Screen, Test and Protect organization and coverage that got us back to campus and kept us here. Thank you Matt.

From Dr. Kim Dunleavy, Clinical Professor and Director of Community Engagement and Professional Education for the Department of Physical Therapy:

Matt Walser is one of the adjunct instructors who provide such a rich interprofessional perspective for our DPT students. Our DPT students have the privilege of learning interpretation of imaging results for PT practice, and Matt’s experience working in the Orthopedic field at UF Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Institute and in the Student Health center allow for extremely relevant case examples and application. Matt’s sense of humor and outstanding teaching skills are very much appreciated and we are truly grateful for his leadership and work with the COVID testing process for everyone on campus – thank you Matt!
