Bishop receives Dorothy Baethke-Eleanor J. Carlin Award for Excellence in Academic Teaching

The Department is very proud to announce that Mark Bishop,PT, PhD, FAPTA, Associate Professor and Director of Physical Therapy Education, has received the 2020 Dorothy Baethke-Eleanor J. Carlin Award for Excellence in Academic Teaching from the American Physical Therapy Association.

This award is for clinical or academic educators who have been actively engaged for a least five years in entry and/or advanced levels of formal education for upcoming physical therapist professionals. Since the start of Dr. Bishop’s teaching career in 1998, his way of teaching has proven to encourage innovation, collaboration and creativity among students and peers.

Dr. Bishop’s teaching expertise has been recognized with the FPTA’s Excellence in Academic Teaching Award, the APTA James A. Gould Excellence in Teaching Orthopedic Physical Therapy Award from the Orthopaedic Section, the Teaching Excellence Award by the College of Public Health and Health Professions and the Clinical Instructor of the Year within the Department.
