DPT Students Conduct Assessments for UF ROTC

ROTC_PT_Assessments_11-15Approximately 30 second-year DPT students successfully performed a functional movement screening and a running analysis on a total of 65 members of UF’s Army and NAVY ROTC programs. This event  assessed injury risk in the cadets and provided students with information and practical experience regarding common impairments among the battalion. Education was a key component of this event and was implemented at each station. Students plan to use the collected data to help advise the ROTC leadership about individuals who are at increased risk for injury.  Students will also advise about ways to work on the most common deficits identified during the assessments. Both the ROTC cadets and the second year students made the event a great success and help set a path to building a strong relationship with the UF DPT and the ROTC programs. Both parties look forward to participating in future similar events.
