The UF DPT program would like to congratulate the four alumni from the Class of 2013 who have received a specialist certification. Courtney Bohne has achieved recognition from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy. Bryant Seamon and Kathryn Swanson have achieved recognition from the APTA as a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy. Stephanie Wickham has achieved recognition from the APTA as a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. APTA specialist certification is awarded in recognition of expertise and professional skills. Certification requires a minimum of 2000 clinical practice hours beyond entry level and completion of professional development activities in order to sit for the specialist certification examinations. These four will be recognized at APTA’s Combined Sections Meeting in 2016 and join 22 other UF DPT alumni who have achieved this professional recognition.
