Karen Victorian graduated from the University of South Alabama in 1991
with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy.
Before coming to Tacachale in 1997 Karen’s practice focused on adult
neurological rehabilitation in both the acute and sub-acute setting. Her
specific clinic interests have been stroke and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation.
She completed the NDTA three week course in the treatment of adult hemiplegia
in 1994.
While working at Tacachale her client’s have been largely the ambulatory
but aging population and the atypical behavior/autism population. Because
she has a thirteen year old son with Asperger’s Syndrome she brings
unique insight into the trials, tribulations, gifts, and joys that Autism
brings to life.
Karen’s roots are in the mid-west, growing up as an Air Force brat,
which means she lived in a lot of different places. Her husband Shand moved
to Gainesville in 1991 so that he could attend the University of Florida.
He earned his Masters of Design Degree in Architecture in 1998 but they
chose to keep Gainesville as their home. [full
