Course Description
This one-day course is designed to provide physical therapist with a review
of gross and functional anatomy applied to knee injury mechanisms, knee
examination and knee rehabilitation interventions. Current concepts in the
rehabilitation of patellofemoral joint dysfunction and anterior cruciate
ligament injuries will be presented. A combination of didactic and video
presentations, cadaver dissection, and laboratory sessions will be used.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, the practitioner will be able to:
- Able to: Locate and identify the musculature and joint structures of the knee joint on the cadaver
- Describe rehabilitation strategies for patients with patellofemoral disorders
- Identify faulty movement patterns during lower extremity functional activities
- Describe conservative and surgical rehabilitation strategies for patients with anterior cruciate ligament injuries
- Create a dynamic stability training for conservative management of anterior cruciate ligament injuries
CEHs
7.5 Continuing Education Hours will be awarded to PT’s upon completion
of this course.

Program Cost
The program registration fee will include breakfast and a boxed lunch with

Directions
From I-75 North or South, take Exit 384 East on SR 24. Proceed east approximately
3 miles. Turn left on Center Drive (west side of Shands Hospital). Park
in the visitor’s lot or any open parking space (no parking fees on
weekends)
The HPNP building is located directly behind Shands Hospital. Enter the building through the center door at the front entrance (south side of building). Follow signs to room PT 1104, located on the second floor.
