Research Interests:

  • Understanding the intrinsic neural repair processes i.e. neuroplasticity and their role in improvement of spinal cord function after high cervical injury.
  • Role of the Nogo-66 antagonist synthetic peptide (NEP1-40), as a potential therapeutic agent in promotion of new nerve fiber growth in damaged spinal cords.
  • Neural stem cell transplantation and its efficacy in the repair of CNS injury, including spinal cord trauma and stroke.
