Elks Camp

DPT students travel annually to the Elks Camp in Umatilla, Florida as volunteers for children with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy. This collaborative effort between the University of Florida physical therapy department and the Elks is led by Claudia Senesac, PT, PhD, PCS. Student volunteers assist with coordinating camp activities while UF faculty provides consultative services to therapists in the field throughout the state of Florida.

Fourth Annual Great Gator Health Fest
UF Doctor of Physical Therapy students participated in the Fourth Annual Great Gator Health Fest, sponsored by the UF College of Pharmacy. This event promotes awareness of the plethora of health and wellness services available to the community. Sit reach tests were performed and results compared to age grouped test norms. Student physical therapists then advised proper stretching techniques and the benefits associated with increasing one's flexibility. They also presented information regarding proper postural alignment.
