Second year Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) students Dallis Rossi and Ryan Specie were two of 29 individuals from eight different countries selected to participate in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Summer Overseas Exchange Subsidy Scheme (SOESS). The program was hosted by the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and featured lectures highlighting Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s dynamic research in the fields of Neuroscience and Neuro-rehabilitation, Orthopedic and Sports Rehabilitation, Geriatric Rehabilitation, and ‘East meets West’ in Rehabilitation Sciences (which focused on research incorporating traditional Chinese culture into rehabilitative techniques .) Participants were given research labs tours and tours of the Rehabilitative Departments of the Tuen Mun Hospital, located in the New Territories of Hong Kong. Two pediatric school tours were also given – the B.M Kotewall Memorial School and the Pak Tin Pre-school Centre for individuals with cognitive, developmental, and physical disabilities.
